About the Event

Mita Saldana, Owner of Against the Grain, will be the instructor for this class.

Unhappy with the boring and plain bookcloth available? Want to add more patterns and colors in your books?

This is the class for you !

I will teach you how to change almost any type of cloth into bookcloth.

If you have cloth you would like to transform, bring it to class.

There will be a selection of cloths to choose from in class.

Once I teach you how to transform cloth into a bookcloth, the next step will be to learn how to make a sewn-on tapes book by using our new bookcloth to cover book boards and make tapes,  This multiple sectioned hard book cover is made distinct by sewing over straps or tapes that are exposed on the spine, then attached to the covers.

This is yet another book that lies flat when opened.

No previous experience required.

Most materials and tools will be provided.  Class supplies will also be available for purchase during class.

$65 per person
