About the Event

Mita Saldana , owner of Against the Grain and professional book-binder and antique repairs will be teaching this class.

This ancient binding belongs to the chain stitch family but one difference is it happens to be BIG, 20 sections! And the really cool thing is it's sewn in two halves onto hard cover and then joined in the center with a figure 8 stitch.  Totally different than other bindings.

We will be using pretty decorative papers to cover the boards and stitching will be visible across the spine.

Super YUM !

No experience needed, I will teach you.  Beginners welcome !

Most supplies will be provided, papers, decorative papers, boards and more.

If you DO have your own book binding tools from previous classes, bring them including a cutting mat.

I will also have the student tool kit if you do not have one or forgot a tool.

A detailed supply list will be emailed to you previous to class.

Student must bring PVA glue, of their own.

$ 60.00 per student
