Time & Location
About the Event
This is two classes in one.
I will provide all materials and give you equipment for felting and dyeing. You bring leaves and flowers that you's like to incorporate into your creation.
There will a small break for lunch. You can either order food from one of the surrounding restaurants or bring your own. SWCC has a coffee bar and snacks available to the students.
On the first day of class: We will use the new Merino wool 18 mk laying technique for the finest weave.
Then we will get acquainted with the medium print technique - dyeing wool and silk using leaves and acid dyes.
The scarf you are making will be about 66"x 20" inches in size.
Leaves can be prepared now and dried, like in a herbarium in a plane, or you can bring fresh ones if any.
The best leaves are with interesting relief - oak, grapes, Eucalyptus, rose.
Since this technique takes a very long time, we will prepare the scarves for the print and give them to the instructor for steam processing.
The next day, each of you will unwrap your scarves and receive information for further processing.
This will be a fun process and you will enjoy it.
