In this class, the traditional 4-hole stab binding and it's variations:

  • The Tortoise-shell
  • The Hemp leaf
  • The Kangxi
  • Traditional

These softbound books use no glue and a single, non-folded sheets of paper for the text blocks.  These elegant bindings are wonderful for small editions and chapbooks.  Teachers find them especially useful in the classroom and for projects.

All tools and materials will be provided.

No experience necessary.  Beginners Welcome!

 If you have your own bookbinding tools bring them, including a cutting mat.  I will also have the student tool kit for use if you don't have your own tool kits yet, or you have forgotten or missing items.
